Product and install ok, but communications and customer service is more faulty towers than the Ritz.
Hi Angus2024,
Could you please identify yourself so that we are able to respond to your comments. We haven't done any business with an Angus lately and would like the opportunity to make a specific response. After running this business for 24 years it is hard to understand how we can receive such a comment when communications and customer service is of the utmost importance to us.
Regards,
Paddington Shutters & Blinds
Do not use this company. James quoted us $1500 to repair our external venetians, which we queried and were given a cost spit of roughly $500 for labour and $1000 for parts.
When it came to the repair - they had 2 men come for 2 hours maximum, and replaced only the pieces of string that the motor uses to raise the blinds - hardly $1000 worth of "parts".
Having already paid a $750 deposit prior to work starting - we queried the cost of the invoice after seeing how little work and parts were required, James effectively threatened litigation for payment of the excessive invoice balance. I have susequently asked for evidence of the $1000 parts component of our invoice and am still awaiting a reply. I'm very interested how he will justify a $1000 spend on string.
On request we provided the clients a quotation to repair their external venetian blind as we believed it was the honest thing to do, rather than waste their money on a new blind. After the initial quotation the clients asked us to provide a quotation, separating the costs for materials and labour, which we did. We have never hassled or contacted the clients encouraging them to go ahead with this quotation, it was a decision of their own free will. They accepted this quotation and paid the requested 50% deposit. The materials (expensive, specifically designed and engineered lifting tapes for external blinds - not pieces of string!) were sourced and the works completed in a timely & professional manner. It clearly states on our quotations that the balance of payment is due on the day of completion. Since the works have been completed we have sent 3 invoices asking for payment.
The 1st soon after completion of works, the 2nd a polite reminder another 7 days later and the last, another 7 days later stating that it is now overdue. It is only at this stage that the clients replied querying the cost which they have already accepted. We do not need to get to this stage very often as the vast majority of our clients pay straight away, on the day of completion as per our quotations conditions.
As with all quotations they are not negotiable after it has been accepted, deposit received and works completed. We always try to do the right thing and cannot believe that we have received a review such as this. We have been in the window furnishing business since 1995 and are still going strong, totally relying on word of mouth only - no advertising, just simply providing good products & service at reasonable prices.
In response to the client’s comment that he is still waiting on a reply, please note that he sent the email he refers to at 9.31pm and then posted the comments above at 6.48am the next morning, saying he had not had a reply. We are pleased to report that the invoice as now been paid in full. Anyone is welcome to call if you have any concerns or would like to know the full story.
