Partyworld International

One of my least favourite places for karaoke in Melbourne. They cater to a mostly rich overseas student clientele and price their drinks and food accordingly. We've been called by management a few days afterwards to ask if we could help them with information about a fight that broke out in another room!

Have not been to party world in a very long time. This was not by choice as i did not organise. Party world is very outdated with their song selections compared to other karaoke bars who have the latest songs on radio. Party world looks very nice and their packages for room bookings is pretty fair, plenty of rooms. Plenty of staff and service was a lot better compared to my last experience. A hit of a button and the staff is at the door. Their systems need tuning as the microphone didn't sound right. The songs are sometimes louder than the person singing and sometimes the other way around which is not consistant throughout the night. Staff reset the system a couple times but was still pretty bad, so i think they need a proper tuning. Other than location which i think is great but Party world needs some work with song choices and tuning.

Although location is central i must say i didn't really enjoy the service at Party World as much compared to others. I organised a night here and booked it for a certain time. When i arrived, they said i had to wait as there were people still in the room i was scheduled in for. So i waited a bit, then i attended the front desk asking how much longer, they said i had to wait another 30mins as they needed to clean the room. Because i had already prepaid, this was cutting into my booking time. So i asked for the waiting time to be extended on to my finish time but they said no because someone else was booked into the same room after my time was finish. So i paid an hour extra for other people to sing and clean my room. I made a complaint at the front desk but because there was no management around and just staff, they couldn't do much about it. My situation was handled very poorly in which i have not been back since.

I've been to many karaoke bars in Melbourne is this place is probably one my favourite. It's a lot more classy then the others (which of course comes with a premium price). The rooms here are large with a great view of LaTrobe St (depending on which room you get). And this is the first karaoke bar that I've been to where I didn't have to ask how to use the song selection. The song selection is a touch screen menu in English. Only downfall of this place is the expensive drinks (compared to other karaoke bars) and it's not as up to date with their songs.

It's also really great because most of the songs have the actual video clip to it instead of having to repeat the same generic boring clips.

If they had cordless mics, then this place would be near perfect! Highly recommend for any celebration or occasion. And they do food too!
