Paul Sheppard Furniture Restoration
FURNITURE REPAIRS AND RESTORATION SERVICE FOR ALL ANTIQUE, RETRO AND MODERN TIMBER FURNITUREOffering 28 years experience in furniture repair and restoration work for all timber furniture including home architecture such as staircases, fire surrounds and wall panels.
I use traditional repair methods and hand french polishing for Antique and Art Deco pieces. I undertake the following repairs -
Replace missing veneers, inlays or trims.
Structural repairs e.g. splits, chips, loose frames
Drawer runners repaired
Repair chair legs and tighten joints
I also undertake modern furniture repair and restoration work. Retro furniture such as Chisswell, Parker & Fleur Danish furniture from the 1960-1970s era have increased in value and people are now seeking to have these pieces restored. Danish style furniture with its clean lines seems to be the in thing when decorating the modern home. Rather than purchasing new reproduction furniture pieces which don't often have the cabinetry workmanship that the original pieces have, I find customers are happy to have family heirlooms and retro furniture finds restored to compliment their decorating style.
Repairs can be carried out to fix any damage that has occurred to these pieces and modern surface finishes will be applied, either a lacquer or oil based surface finish which can offer a certain degree of protection against beverage spills which provides the customer with a low maintenance timber finish.
Timber repair services available are for your modern or retro furniture pieces-
Chair legs and joints are cleaned of old glue,
dowels replaced if needed and re-glued to tighten.
Timber table tops or entire table surfaces restored.
Structural timber repairs such as veneer chips and splits.
Fresh colour stains applied and/or colour matching to other furniture pieces.
Transportation can be arranged. Please put in your enquiry form transportation required together with your suburb and all contact details.

Paul was very friendly and easy to talk with regarding the restoration of a large family dining table. The table was "Baltic" in colour and I was nervous about changing it to "Walnut" as it had been in our family 50 or so years. We are super happy with the end result - Paul has done a brilliant job and given our table, and dining room, a new lease on life. We had been referred to Paul by a friend who had great results with their table and I'm happy to recommend Paul also.

You asked for no fake reviews so here is mine. I rang him and we discussed the work to be done. He was pleasant and polite on the phone. He requested I send him some pictures so he could evaluate the situation. And after many months I am still waiting for a reply. Basically he wasn't interested and couldn't be bothered ringing back to advise me. In my opinion he is a time waster.
Hi Stew, to this date I have not received any photos from anyone called Stew or Stewart. I receive daily photos via my official website which I respond to within 24 hours of receiving enquiries and reply back with a email providing a quote. If you still require a quote for the work please email me at [email protected]
My only comment to you here is that you say you have been waiting months to hear back from me. If I had indeed missed any emails and I have searched my emails prior to making this comment, would you not have rung me to follow up.
I've recently used Paul to restore an older wooden table. It now looks better than new! Cannot thank Paul enough. Would highly recommend to anyone & will use him again the future. 5 stars!
Honestly I had a very bad experience with this individual I found him rude and willing to do the work unless he could make a lot of money out of it... he told me I had to find another tradesman because the job I offered wasn't worth his time....Disgusting attitude not worthy of a true local
We've had Paul restore many pieces of furniture for us throughout the years and have always been delighted with the quality of his workmanship and his professionalism. If you are looking at restoring or repairing antique or heirloom timber furniture he is definitely the man to see.
