Terrible experience at this place. We had a group dinner set at $30 per person. Firstly, the tables got served 20 minutes apart so that the first table was done before the other even had their food, on two separate occasions. We asked twice what the delay was and they said both times "I don't know, I'll ask", but never got back to anyone. And then did it again for the next course.
Secondly, the food that came out was so sparse, it was not worth the price we paid. Especially considering the size of our group. The profit would have been tremendous for them and we barely got a whole serving of entree and two-three tiny fajitas with hardly any meat each. ...read more
I was worried about the evening ahead when I entered the near empty restaurant and waited for at least a minute before a waitress appeared to greet us. However, her cheerful and likeable demeanour meant the incident was quickly forgiven.
Pepino's has a more upmarket feel than the usual Mexican restaurants we visit. We sat at the front part of the restaurant. Be warned though, if facing the road you will occasionally be blinded by car headlights beaming through the window. ...read more
Thankfully we have more and more Mexican dining options now in Sydney. More people are familiar with authentic Mexican food - gone are the days when Australians thought Old El Paso tacos were an authentic taste of Mexico. The service was fast, and the food was reasonable. A few years ago this would have been considered a 5-star Mexican restaurant, unfortunately these days with growing competition I have to give the food here a 3 star. The decor is dated, and the food just barely authentic. I had Fajitas and some Tacos, what was lacking in quality was more than made up for in quantity. I left full, if a little wanting.
