I started weekly personal training sessions with Emma in January 2012 and, over the past twelve months, I have achieved some really exciting health outcomes working with her; I have increased my overall cardio fitness, my strength and I'm continuing to work steadily towards my weight loss goal. Emma is a very friendly, supportive trainer with a wonderful sense of fun. Emmas communication skills are excellent; she demonstrates exercises very clearly and explains the reasons why she is selecting particular exercises for me. Emma is reliable and always on time. I really appreciate the reminder sms messages she sends the day before we train. The sessions Emma designs have always been a good level of challenging and they contain a lot of variety; the workouts have continued to capture my imagination and interest, week to week, for well over a year. I have been with Emma for years and in that time I have become so much stronger, broader and healthier. Emma is both encouraging and challenging, and her workouts promote an all around understanding of the muscles being used and the appropriate way to work them. She helps you set goals that you can expand as you get fitter, and is there the entire way on your particular fitness journey for both support and a challenge. I cannot recommend her more highly.
I was in need of losing excess weight after my second baby and wanted to find my ultimate fitness level. I had always wanted to be able to run 10km without feeling like l was going to die!! After discussing these goals with Emma & commencing training, it didnt take long before l could feel & see that my goals were achievable. Her ongoing help and guidance picked me up in-between training days if l felt l was falling off the rails. Most of all Emma kept me motivated to push me past my limits and showed me that fitness is additive and not all painful. I am a better person emotionally and physically for myself and my family.
After having a baby, I decided I needed some help in getting fit and losing the weight. I found Emma through True Local and could not have been more impressed. Emma met with me to discuss my goals and gave me a complimentary session to determine my fitness level before starting the programme. During the time I have been meeting with Emma, I have lost my baby weight and feel stronger and fitter than ever before. I was able to see a progression in my endurance and strength. Emma always made the sessions fun, different and personal. Emma also went out of her way to provide me with information on topics I was interested in, sending me information via email or lending me reference material. Emma was always friendly, punctual and seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me and what I was interested in, on a personal level.
I was looking to lose some weight and get fitter. I called Emma and she changed how I think about exercise and nutrition. Emma has guided me with her experience and knowledge. Encouraging me by keeping the workouts fun, safe and interesting while still pushing me. When I started with Emma running more than 1km for me was unachieveable. In the next few weeks l will be running in the Melbourne Marathon 10km.
I look forward to working with Emma to achieve my new goal of running a half marathon.
