Plume has all the glamour of Chinese cuisine Hong Kong-style, without the high prices. Nowhere is this more evident than in their excellent Peking Duck, abalone and shark's fin dishes, and flambe desserts. Guests are attended to by immaculate and attentive staff in black jackets who move over the inlaid marble floor or the lofty staircase with quiet efficiency.

I had quite the enjoyable yum cha experience here. The staff are all very mature and experienced, taking the time to explain certain dishes that we were unsure about. The service was second to none. And the food quality was delicious! I think there were more items on the yum cha menu here than other yum cha restaurants that I’ve been too. And when we ordered food off the yum cha menu, it came out almost immediately. I would definitely be back here more often now and recommend this place to any yum cha lover.
What I once considered a good quality Chinese restaurant is now a very poor imitation of its former self. I visited last Sat night 22/3 for dinner and was surprised at the few people present at 7:45pm. I guess this was a sign of things to come. The wine waitstaff asked if we would like a pre-dinner drink but when asked what sparkling wines were on offer wasn't really sure and suggested we consult the menu. There was only one by the glass so one would think the waitstaff would have remembered that. We placed our food order with some difficulty as the waitstaff obviously wasn't au fait with the menu. When delivered it wasn't all correct. I noticed the table next to us had been given a water jug and hot towels neither of which were offered to us. I'd heard mixed reviews about this place prior to going and I can see why, it won't suit everyone's tastes. Nevertheless from my perspective upon being guided through, the place is definitely tacky, cheap chairs and tables and the areas are generally cramped.
