Prahran Hotel

I've been to the Prahran Hotel a few times since the renovation, as it's a great place to meet friends for after work drinks or dinner. I dined at Prahran Hotel for the first time in the 'booths' which are a beautiful architectural addition to the dining room and add a little theatre to the experience.

Went on a Saturday night and we were served quickly, the staff were friendly and relatively knowledgable about the menu.

Being a wine drinker, I was pleased to see a variety of offerings on the list and a great selection of food.

Thinking there must have been a new chef installed since the previous reviews as the food was delicious and well seasoned - perfect for a stormy winter's night in Melbourne.

Will be back again soon.

I can't say that I really liked this place all that much. First of all it took quite a while for me to get served, and a couple of the bar staff seemed to simply ignore me, which did put a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. The layout of the pub isn't all that bad, and it did seem to be reasonably popular, however it simply did not seem to catch my attention all that much. It did remind me of a similar pub back in Adelaide that I would regularly frequent, though this pub didn't have an overarching theme. The bar out the back had a smokers cage set right in the middle, which seemed quite out of place as well. However, I did quite like the numerous alcoves on the wall which did give me quite an intimate feeling about the place. However, I doubt I'll be coming back here anytime soon.

Security were rude, staff were rude, the new layout is great and the food is OK but i would not recommend the experience that the 'Prahran Hotel' offers - I only gave half a star as the food was eatable
