Rainworth State School

We live down the road by Norman Buchan Park and have found the teachers at Rainworth to be some of the best in Brisbane. I can see why the school is held in such high regard, and it shows in the results we see in our children. Highly recommended for your kids future.

This is a popular school for local residents, many families want to send their children here. I live 50 metres out of the catchment area and was told by the staff that I would need to line up to enrol on the 'out of catchment' day. When I asked what time to arrive on Monday I was told that the previous year the first person arrived at 1.30am on the Saturday night! They will only accept paper enrolment forms and will consider the waitlist on a first come first served basis although they have not taken anyone out of catchment for a few years. I think this is an appalling practise for 2016. We have electronic means of submitting forms with an email date/time stamp and everyone can be at home safe and warm in their own beds. There is no excuse for this other than to discourage enrolments out of catchment. If this is how they organise enrolment, what does it say about their internal admin practices? I'n happy to send my children to a different school
