I've never had any experience with dog groomers as I've always owned short haired dogs, so I didn't really know what to expect. But what a wonderful job! My girl was clipped beautifully. Not shaved as I had kind of expected- but expertly clipped around her ears, face, nails, tail, ect. She looked unreal. And when I picked her up, the ladies had give her a little bandanna to wear. The price was pretty good too- $50-$60 for the works for a medium sized dog. Extremely happy with the grooming, staff, service.
Worst experience here of many different animal grooming businesses. Took in my Sheltie for his usual bath and trimming of hair around his paws and ears etc and picked him up to find they had shaved his hair to the length of a short-haired dog. Without a doubt the worst grooming business I have been to. Dog grooming 101: If unsure of what a breed should look like, look it up in a book or on the internet. If still unsure of what you are supposed to do CONSULT THE OWNER before taking to their dog with clippers.
We have been trying to contact you to discuss the above, but our calls are not getting returned. Please contact us.
Why on earth should we contact someone who knows nothing about how to groom a pedigree Sheltie. Your offer of a free service will never be accepted. Other Sheltie owners and those who show Shelties are appalled at how my dog was "trimmed". As noted before, if you do not know how to do a job correctly, look it up and/or ring the owner.
And, furthermore, when Shelties' coats are damaged, as my dog's clearly has been, they do not necessarily grow back to the original colour or condition. You were asked to shave around his tummy area and it was shaved to his front legs. His toenails were not clipped correctly. I could go on and on. I repeat "worst experience" of any dog grooming business used.
Apologies for my mothers comments. I am grateful for your offer of free service. It was obviously a mistake from a junior staff member or misunderstanding between my mother and the staff. At the end of the day he is still the same little guy underneath that we love. I understand that Sheltie's probably don't make a regular appearance at your grooming business however perhaps you could encourage staff to consult a dog breeds book and the owner especially for the pedigree dogs?
Thanks :)
