If like me you tend to get a bit over the crowds and chaos of huge shopping centres, then this place is for you. The layout is easy to navigate and there is plenty of parking in the complex. Great selection of speciality stores and large chains such as Target, Big W, Best and Less, Woolworths, Dick Smith, Terry White Chemist and an onsite Tavern and TAB outside. The customer service in all the stores is always friendly and helpful and maybe just a stroke of luck, but when an item is sold out at other larger shopping centres, I have always been lucky enough to find it at Runaway Bay. A couple of cafes to enjoy a bite to eat or a coffee, predominantly local crowd and overall a more pleasant shopping experience
Quite a nice shopping centre to walk around. Plenty of parking available which is always good. There does seem to be a lack of coffee shops. A few years back they had a great one which overlooked the canal (down near Crazy Clarks) but that one closed and since then I haven't really been up there that much because I don't like the position of the coffee shop outside Woolies (too noisy), I don't like having coffee at Michels because it is located in the centre of the walkway and you feel like everyone is watching you and the only other choice is The Coffee Club which is often full and you can't get a seat. Apart from that, there is Target, Big W, Best and Less, Woolworths and lots of speciality shops and is nice to go there for a change. There is a large number of older people shop there because that must be where the majority retire to.
