My daughter and son both attend this School of Karate-Do and I find that it is well presented and organised. My son has a firm grasp on the Japanese terms used in this ancient art form due to the fact it is used frequently throughout the lessons. Each school has its merits and downfalls so instead of slinging mud at various schools and there instructors maybe we should be thankful that our children are off the streets and learning dedication and responsibility. I can not speak more highly of Sensei Chris and his art of teaching, it has the "End Result" which as parents is all we can ask for. My daughter has been a student with Chris for eight years now and has achieved the highest grading in Junior and has progressed into senior, so it appears no matter which style of teaching is used (a few games thrown it) the results are what count. In conclusion I would recommend this school to anyone, remembering we are all different one school may suit one but not another ...read more
It is a very pretentious thing to suggest that they are the best Karate teacher in Tasmania. There are many high quality Karate instructors in Tasmania, many of them have far more experience. I appreciate that your children like that way they teach, however, it is my experience that they overcrowd (too many Children) the lessons and prefers to play games with the children and not teach correct technique. They have no grasp of the Japanese terms and doesn't fault correct. In my view, this school caters for those who just want to have a bit of fun and not take on the disciple of traditional Karate-Do.
What i like about this Karate Group Sensui Chris is very devoted, he has concern for the kid's welfare as well as teaching them self defence and if he realises a kid it doing it for the wrong reasons he will pull them out, he always gives credit where its due and would thoroughly recommend him to anyone, I have seen my eldest Grandson change from being a very shy, intimidated little boy who hated going to school for fear of being bullied again, to a confident young man, this was a complete turn around...... Thanks Chris keep up the good work ;)
My kids have had Chris as an instructor for many years and I would not bat an eyelid at saying he would be the best in Tasmania. He is flawless when it comes to working with the kids and instructing them at what to do and his ethics make karate more fun and interesting for his students! This club is a must try for anyone seeking to do martial arts :)
