Co-ed infantry cadet unit catering for ages 9yrs - 11yrs for junior cadets and 11yrs - 19yrs for senior cadets. 19+yrs for adults.
Topics learned include: drill, search and rescue techniques, survival skills, first aid, self defence, rifle drill, navigation, radio communications.
All officers and instructors hold police clearance certificates and we are fully chaperoned on all activities.
Day and overnight camps held.
Free current army pattern Auscam uniforms issued on enlistment.
Fees: $25 annually and $3 per week.
Small fee charged for slouch hat issue.
We are the core training group responsible for the training of some 13 youth groups in the drill movements required for the Anzac eve youth vigil held annually at the state war memorial Adelaide form 6pm on 24th April until 6am on 25th April, when the memorial is handed over to the official catafalque party for the dawn service.
The legion was established in 1904 by Captain Roger Pocock and the legion cadets started in Adelaide in 1987. We have been meeting weekly since that date and are at present meeting at the Tea Tree Gully road and Cycle Safety Centre Hazel Grove Ridgehaven.
Our historic fighting regiment is the Royal Frontiersmen 25th Fusiliers, who won battle honours in ww1 at Kilimanjaro, Behbeho, Nyangao and Buukobs in East Africa ...read more
