Location , and ambience, beautiful. HOWEVER, we ordered mushroom sauce , and pepper sauce with our steaks. All we got was a Small jar or runny, oily, jus. ?? Would be interested to know what recipe the chef(?) used. Sorry, but I was bitterly disappointed . Luckily it was reasonably priced.
Over-priced pub food. Went for dinner on a Saturday night. Had a booking but only 2 other couples were seated. Wait staff was very pleasant and brought our drinks reasonably soon but we waited a long time for our mains. For some reason another couple who came in after us was served before we got ours and they were the only other diners at that point. I had the Tempura Battered Prawns with Chili Jam and Herbed Rice Pilaf. It was barely warm, the prawns were doughy and soggy and the "pilaf" was stodgy white rice with parsley. The "chili jam" was a sticky mass of brown onions and very sweet with no other flavour. The best thing on the plate was the salad. My husband said his steak was OK, the chips were clearly frozen. The room is a big nothing and the Ladies Toilet was dirty.
