Whilst I have to compliment Saladworks on their great selection of gourmet salads - pre made or made to order, the hearty winter soups or the selection of wraps, the exhorbant city prices in comparison to the portion sizes are the real killer. $10 for a salad is pretty steep even in this economy however it is a much healthier option than fastfood. Fast, production line service like any other saladworks franchise. Be prepared to line up as they do get particularly crowded at lunchtime. Overall, if you don't have time to make lunch saladworks will fill the spot as a healthy option.
The food is good, but that's what you expect from a franchise. Same quality as other salad works. The service however is terrible. I spent a while queuing, ordered two salads, paid for both of them and one fell down. It was partly my fault as, when the bag was passed on to me, I did not have a proper grip. Anyways, the bag fell down and one salad was spread on the floor. I put most of the salad back into the bowl and put it on the counter. The staff told me that it was still alright to eat, I explained that I collected it from the floor so it's not the best idea. Conclusion: They made me queue again (long queue leading outside of the actual store), then I had to re-order and then re-pay the full price. The staff gave me two stamps at least which is not really what I am looking for after a 30-minute experience in the Salad-Works store. They can learn from franchises such as McDonalds where the customer always comes first. Won't go there again as this was not the first unfriendly ...read more
Salads are a healthy lunch staple these days, but so often you're left disappointed about having spent $10 on a few leaves and some lifeless tossed ingredients. There's always too much dressing, not enough dressing, or they're not filling enough, or exciting enough. But what if you could make your own? What if you could customise your salad just the way you like it? Well you can. Saladworks has got to be one of the most ingenious business ideas... A pad of paper, a pen, tick a few boxes, take it to the counter, watch the saladmasters throw it all in a bowl, whack it in a box and you're on your way. I love that saladworks also offers you some out of the box ingredients - sultanas, sweet potato and cranberries are just some of the ingredients that can turn a simple salad from drab to fab. From now on, I wont be getting my leafy lunches from anywhere else!
Long lines give a hint of the stature of this place. Fear not, the staff work like clockwork, mimicking a well oiled assembly line. The salads, however, display no characteristics of an unloved, uninspired production line. Learn the 'system' and in no time you'll get a delicious salad teeming with fresh ingredients to satisfy your lunch time hungers.
