This is a lovely Italian restaurant. I enjoyed dinner with colleagues here and it was lovely. We had a good (round) table and it was situated in a corner, so a good place to be able to chat a little noisily and not feel we intruded onto other diners. We ordered a range of single serve and shared entrees - scallops, tuna and very nice quail; the our mains were Squid Ink pasta, Beetroot pasta, Pork Belly, Steak and sides of Salad leaves, Potatoes and Broccoli. Everything was presented beautifully, the flavours and ingredients were excellent and service was marvellous. The whole evening was totally delightful.
Delicious food in a warm, welcoming ambience. The croquettes were delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed my pumpkin triangles. The food is beautifully presented with an artisanal quality. Servings are on the small side and prices don't make it a cheap eat. Try the delicious home-made bombolini for dessert!
From the minute we arrive, the warm ambience and friendly vibe here is strong. Our server shows us to a roomy table and takes coats and hefty bags. He brings water quickly and explains the range of succulent specials. We choose a Marscapone & Smoked Salmon appetiser, then Beetroot & Goats cheese entree to share. These are delightfully presented and delicious. The marscapone morsel is rich and very creamy, the red and yellow beetroots are tasty. Our mains are John Dory, Duck Pasta, Lamb Chops and Squid Ink Pasta - all presented differently, attractively and well. Every dish is delicious - the John Dory particularly. A side of Radicchio & Pear Salad is a great complement. For desserts we enjoy Tiramisu and Vanilla/Lemon cake. I have the most delicious Peppermint Tea here that I've ever had. It's all great - good service, very reasonable prices and good food. The space is good too - there's lots if people, but it's not crowded nor hard to chat with friends, well done.
Last night was Sarti celebrated "Eat Drink Chilli" as part of the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival. The night was inspired by the tradition chilli festival of Calabria, Italy with the restaurant decked out in chilli centrepieces on each table, chilli posters on the walls and of course, calabrian music. The atmosphere was fantastic as all the staff got involved in the night, especially when it came to the chilli eating competition. And we received a bottle of chilli oil as a thank you on our way out.
