Sidewalk Tribal Gallery
African art and tribal Jewellery from Timbuktu to Tasmania!Lovers of African and tribal art will find much to admire in this gallery, located in the old 1834 Ordnance Store just down from Salamanca Place. Beautiful antique and silver jewellery from many countries is on display and available for purchase. The gallery presents the most diverse collection of African artefacts in Australia. Hand woven textiles, stone sculptures from Zimbabwe, masks and ceremonial items all form part of the variety of items on offer.
Tribal and contemporary as well as antique jewellery collected from around the globe continues to astound all who see it.
Stopped past today had a great experience with my son looking at the multitude of different artefacts for sale. Incredible selection to suit any budget, hadn't seen this many african pieces outside of Africa. Great shop, was also glad that the lady that we spoke to was also happy to direct us to other Salamanca businesses, shows the spirit of the community
Thank you, African art and the diversity of styles and amazing sculptures from more than 90 different cultures has enabled us to present an ever changing display of beautiful art for 26 years.
It is my priveledge to share it and perhaps to demonstrate what an amazing continent Africa is.
The Salamanca area of Hobart is a wonderful place to explore with many diverse galleries and arts and crafts shops. A must see when you come to sunny Tassie.
I love this gallery - the owner is always happy to tell you about all the provenance and she makes a point of only buying ethically. Her stock is unrivalled on the mainland and the prices very very reasonable. Her contacts and travels are widespread.
