Slug 'N' Lettuce

I've never been a fan of some of these themed pubs (you know, British and Irish pubs) because they always come across to me as some sort of overpriced chain, however this pub does not seem to fit the mould. Okay, it is one of the ALH pubs, which means that they generally have drink specials, but unlike most of the other ALH pubs that I have been to this one actually has a lot of class. Okay, maybe they are going a little overboard because the pubs that I visited in Britain didn't have all of the oddities hanging on the wall, and the roof, but it was still a very classy little pub to have a beer, and the food wasn't all that bad either (though it has been a while since I have had a meal here). Okay, they didn't really have a large beer garden, but the outdoor area was okay. Oh, and the prices are also quite reasonable as well, so it is a decent place to get a cheap meal.

The place is seriously understaffed meaning the service is pretty average. Unfortunately we went for dinner on mothers day and had to wait over an hour for our food and our chips were cold and schnitzel overcooked. I have emailed management about this but have had no reply. If it was the only time I had had an average meal there it wouldn't be such a big deal but the food is usually pretty average and I am not the only person I know who has complained about an hours wait for food. If you want a meal, don't waste your money or time. Stay home and order a pizza or go to other restaurant where they actually cook your food properly.

We enjoy coming to this pub, we usually come here on a Monday night when I don't feel like cooking and I think it might be recent but Monday nights they do buy one main get the other for $10 which is a real good deal! I ordered the steak and it was great, cooked just how I like it. Definitely would come back and also recommend.
