Southerlys Harbour View Bar & Restaurant

The sign on the wall claimed WA Best Steak Sandwich....Ok quite good but far from the best.

We visited southerlys last night on our last night in port Denison ,wow what a little treasure!! The chilli mussels were absolutely awesome and cooked perfectly. Same for the prawns and the emporer but the salt and pepper calamari was to die for . It was the most tender and beautifully cooked calamari we have ever had .we would recommend you pay southerly,s a visit if you are ever in port Denison. The service was prompt and the staff very friendly and they had dogbolter on tap!

Great Location. Staff were prompt in ordering drinks and meal.

Ordered 2 mains to share. Surf and Reef was excellent. Fish and garlic prawns, excellently cooked. Also ordered their most expensive dish, whole cray, pan fired. At $50.00 you woud expect in a cray region you would get a nicly cooked cray. It was so dry and you could not even pull the meat out from the shell. Dry and totally tasteless.

Advised staff of not being happy with the meal and after a little time, were offered free tea or coffee???

Paying $50.00 for a meal that was was dry and tasteless, free tea and coffee does not do it for me. Left after again advising the meal was substandard.



Nothing left to say but leave this report on a very good meal and a very expense ordinary, dry, tasteless and very expensive meal.

This restaurant has a prime location on the foreshore. The food isn't bad and you can have counter meals or sit in the restaurant or outside on the verandah. Great to go before the sunsets. Kids playground across the road for before dinner to wear them out!

We have dined at Southerlys many times. It has changed owners many times in the time we have lived here. The food is great and they have a huge variety to choose from. They also have great entertainment on occassion and Friday night they have chase the ace.
