My husband and I just got back from our honeymoon today. We went to do a shop near surf and chooks and had planned to get some takeaway. While unloading our trolley the owner proceeded to yell at us about our trolley which was about to be returned. He was incredibly rude, aggressive and threatened my husband.
We certainly won't be going back and will be letting other friends in the area of this. How distressing for both of us to be treated so poorly.
Wow lovely surprise to see the new look Surf N' Chooks at Mt Barker. Bright clean and great menu selection. Fresh cooked hot chickens for $8.90 best value take away chicken in town. Family favourite BEEF CROQUETTES available there, as are PRAWNS IN BATTER, all cooked in healthy oils, how good can it get. Salads all made fresh and looked delicious. Almost got the chips spot for my tastes, the family thought they were great so all happy there.
Organic chicken salt available for those who like it on their chips.
I wont walk past in future, instead I will make it my take a way shop in Mt Barker.
Great efforts, keep up the good work and you will get back the business lost by previous owners.
Maybe I'm just spoiled "HOWEVER " whilst shop owners and clients complain about the Price and Costs of operating. Please, Please, Please, I've tried chips (so-called) from every place in Barker and the Surrounding only to find NOBODY MAKES REAL CHIPS.
Make real chips & your shops will be full & clients will come back. Closest real chips from Barker is the Feathers Fish & Chips
Very disappointed since take over have increased their prices and chips are ordinary.. was not good value for money.. $7 for a small bag of chips and called them medium size. Original owners wrapped them and were more generous with serving size. Won't be going back.. Bring back the other owners..
I find that your review is irrelevant as the price and serving size is the same as every chicken shop in South Australia. I found the chips to be excellent as they use premium vegetable oil and not animal fat as most places do, chips stayed crisp as they were placed in bags and not wrapped. The chicken is awesome and I'm there weekly without fail. New owners know what they're doing and have cleaned the place up.
