I don't care if Sushi Sushi provides proper 'authentic' Japanese sushi, and am quite happy to turn up to their counter as a happily ignorant westerner, say hello to the staff at my local outlet for the fourth time that week, and purchase two tuna hand rolls for my 4yo son (who begs me to buy them EVERY time we visit the shopping center).
Their seaweed salad is delicious, along with their squid salad and other tasty little packages they have on offer. I say go for it, it's all so bloody delicious!
Glen Waverley's chapter of the pandemically-ubiquitous sushi chain, 'Sushi Sushi' is true to its name's use of a noun as an adjective; the sushi is indeed quite sushi. Which is generally pleasing to a sushi addict such as myself, who compulsively orders two raw salmon hand rolls at every opportunity, be it morning, night, or afternoon; in time of peace, and time of war. However, this habit has made me picky; acutely aware of the subtle differences between the salmon-filled, rice-lined, nori-wrapped offerings of each outlet. Good gravy, I could use a sushi right now. But, biased as I am, I am also in a position to compare sushi vendors on their unique execution of the salmon hand roll, and unfortunately, Sushi Sushi are among the stingiest.
