Ted's Cameras Garden City

Visited here again more recently, and was so happy with my experience, I felt I had to re-review this store.
Extremely helpful, attentive, and friendly staff member (I would name but not sure about privacy); and very competitively priced items (I purchased my item as well as another item I wasn't planning on buying - but the price was so good I couldn't say no).
I like entering this store as it's taken a total of 1/2 minute for a staff member to say Hi both times I've recently visited. Based on these visits, I do recommend a visit to Ted's at Westfield Garden City.

Negitives: sales staff showed less interest in assisting me as time went on... understandable, but not to the extent that you go to the counter to belly-ache about another customer from earlier on in the day to fellow sales staff... very unprofessional.
Positive: good range.
Prior to the relocation (due to the Westfield Garden City renovations and extension) this store was extremely unhelpful, not competitive on price, didn't have product knowledge (nor did they fob you to a fellow staff member who might know) and failed to have stock. It's on the 'up' now in comparison to previous visit, but still average overall.

We recently bought a camera on sale to $500 at TEDs garden city. We subsequently found the same camera for a cheaper price in another store's catalogue. As outlined in TEDs brochure they will refund the difference in price if the same camera is found elsewhere cheaper within 14days. I thought this would be simple. Initially on showing them the competitors store's brochure, they weren't interested and tried to fob it off saying it was a different lens. So we had to call the other store ourselves to confirm it was in fact the same camera. Another trip back into the store and they agreed to refund the money after numerous excuses and complaints that the competing store weren't advertising correctly. After trying to do the refund on the computer for 10minutes the manager then turned around and said we would have to bring back the bonus CD which we got with the camera or pay extra for it. This store never excites me. Maybe then salespeople are so lacklustre because tehy are in a major shopping centre and get huge volumes of walk through traffic. I didn't find the person I spoke to to be an expert as I had a better knowledge than him about the camera technology we were discussing. However they have good catalogue specials and the Garden City branch is much less busy than the city so at least you can be attended to quickly.
