Fine Australian contemporary art to delight and provoke.Located in the picturesque village of The Channon in northern NSW, The Channon Gallery is committed to the exhibition of fine Australian contemporary art.
Business hours are from Wednesday to Sunday, 10.00am to 5.00pm. Viewing also available outside of business hours by appointment.
I went to The Channon Gallery today after hearing an interview on ABC with the photographer who has a solo exhibition there. Reviews aren't my thing, unless I have a bad experience, but I was just amazed with this gallery in the middle of the bush - but really not at all far from Byron and Lismore. The Sue Adler exhibition of photography exceeded my expectations and the space the the art work associated with a second exhibition at the gallery was staggering. Staying in Byron and dropped by The Channon on Sunday. Markets closed due to bad weather and too early for the tavern. The Channon Gallery took us in before their opening time and gave us a freshly ground coffee and let us cool our heels and look at their art. Hospitality was very welcome on a cold, wet morning, but the exhibition in the gallery was quite remarkable. The quality of artwork and artists was truly of a very high standard and the best seen so far in my travels around this region. Keep up the good work guys!
