At first I didn't think much of this pub, however my opinion changed somewhat when I came past here a second time. The first thing I noticed was the range of craft beer on tap (the the keg over the bar with the words 'craft beer' on the side was an added bonus). I must say that the staff were really friendly, and I was served quite quickly, though that may have something to do with the fact that there were not all that many people here. Still, it is always good to be attended to as opposed to hanging around the bar waiting for somebody to serve you, especially when the pub is quiet. What I really liked was the lounge down the side. It gave the place a really comfortable feel to it, and in fact it made me feel like I was in my own lounge room. That is certainly something that I really like in a pub.
I had booked lunch few weeks ago at this place for lunch just yesterday. Agree with the other reviewer that the place doesnt look that appealing on the outside however nice presentation in the inside with a pub section and restaurant. To our surprise for a Saturday lunch period, there was absolutely no body in the restaurant apart from us. Would have been nice to have some music perhaps in the background to break up how quiet it was in the restaurant. The only noise I could hear was the kitchen chef preparing the food. Despite all of this, the waitress was friendly and the food was quite pleasant. We started off with a mix platter of antipasta nicely presented on a chopping board. For mains I opted for the Western Plains Pork Belly roasted fillet, dukah, apple & witlof salad, cider glaze, while my partner chose the beef briskets and dessert we shared a sponge cake with ice-cream on the side. I would recommend this place for people looking for a nice meal, only ...read more
