The Craftsman
Conveniently located at Westfield Carousel Shopping Centre, The Craftsman is a good place to get a drink or a meal whilst taking a break from shopping, or catching up with friends before or after a movie. The venue is big and spacious inside, it also has a lovely alfresco area outside perfectly situated where you can enjoy a drink and people watch. There is a large range of drinks to choose from which are reasonably priced and a large range of pub meals to choose from. Good service.
Rude and pathetic service, manager is arrogant, our family went to pop in for a light meal and a drink, had been shopping and we had a trolley then as we walked in manager told us to leave if we had a trolley, so we empted our trolley and carried two bags in and walked back in to restraunt and another staff member told us that kids were not welcome after 7pm. Been here many times but tonight will be our last ! Very disappointed
I usually only eat here when I go to the movies and I have plenty of time as the service is usually bad. I dined here a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised at the quick service and polite staff. The staff actually came around to check how the meal was going and checked for drinks several times. This made a pleasant change from trying to catch a staff member or standing at the bar for ages while my meal went cold. I'm so glad they lifted their game and hope they keep it up. I will return more often!
I've been to the Craftsman a few times in the past twelve months. I've seen a huge improvement in their customer service and have recommended this venue to a couple of my friends. The food is always amazing. The portion sizes mean you never leave with an empty stomach. If you have room for dessert, which you'll kick yourself if you don't, try their homemade sticky date pudding. It's incredible. They have an extensive wine menu and for the boys they have over 15 beers on tap. If you can't decide on what you want to drink, the bar staff are happy to help out which is rare at other venues. You are always served with a smile which is really good to see. The venue itself looks great. It's not dark and dated like the Foundry. It's modern yet comfortable. There is plenty of seating and tables so you never have to stand around. I highly recommend you check this place out the next time you're walking past, or even after an afternoon of shopping pop in for a wine with the girls.
