It’s always exciting to find a ‘hidden gem’. That’s exactly how I felt when I went to The Foxtrot. Hidden from the outside but definitely gave me a ‘wow’ factor once I stepped in into this Bar.
The cozy and relaxing ambience was just the beginning. Depending on what your mood is, you can choose to sit downstairs or upstairs. Upstairs area (greener pastures) would be perfect if you prefer a brighter, greener and summery vibe :)
It was still bright when we came but we chose to sit downstairs to experience the ‘night out’ feeling.
The drinks that we had:
Cognac & Cumquat Cobbler (my favourite)
Good Fortune
Strawberry Thyme
Food was absolutely amazing! We ordered:
Truffle Fries
Arancini
Rocket, Pear and Parmesan Salad
Prosciutto Pizza
and Meat and Cheese Board
I couldn’t even pick my favourites as I seriously loved them all!
“You’ve just ordered the two hardest drinks on the menu,” the bartender at The Foxtrot tells my dining companion. Sorry, not sorry, I’m having my Diced Diamonds ($19) anyway. Leaving aside that it was on a page called the Ladies’ List, it’s a subtly serious drink blending house-infused pineapple tequila, lightly smoky Ilegal Mezcal Reposado, orange juice, lime juice, agave syrup and passionfruit pulp. Conforming to gender stereotypes, I like it better than Ray’s Remedy ($24) from the Gentleman's List, despite usually being a whisky cocktail fan. It’s basically Penicillin, made on Chivas 12-year-old Scotch whisky, lemon juice, ginger, honey and a Laphroaig float. I suspect my preference is because they promised me peat, and delivered me my Laphroaig "float" via a single spray from an ...read more
Such a cool space that is a blend of speakeasy and old English pub. So great for having conversations with friends of just chilling out with a cocktail from the funky bar. There's also a leafy loft area above the bar that we loved. The Chef’s Kitchen team are pumping out some amazing burgers, fries, and wings… Definitely try the Meaty Melange and the wings! Thanks for Charles from Chef’s Kitchen for hosting us.
Super cool venue with amazing cocktails and great staff. This is a hole in the wall place that only those"in the know" even know exists. Food is great - do not leave without trying the wings - and I cant wait for Winter to hang out on the couch beside the open firepklace.
You need to get there before it gets "too cool" and everyone knows about it!
