Shrunk a wool formal wear jacket worth hundreds of dollars. Lost a button which is very difficult to replace. Put a safety pin through the fabric of another suit. Two attempts at ironing suits and still visible creases. First attempt clothes came back with various animal and human hair and fibres.
On the second attempt there was no communication around the repairs, rectification, or even to tell us they were ready. An absence of customer support from the owner. Thanks to Carol for a helpful conversation when we collected the items the second time and noted the damage together.
The dry cleaner had refused to accept any responsibility, and had refused to refund the cost of dry cleaning.
The dry cleaner is not registered with the dry cleaning institute of Australia (another layer of protection) so the claims process will be through the office of fair trading.
