The Hermitage

We were a group of six on 20/07/2013 and the service was excellent, the female waitress very attentive. The scallops, risotto, kangaroo, garlic prawns, lamb, beef tournedoes and duck were cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. The owner (I am assuming) was very friendly and our compliments go to the chefs.

Definitely well worth the visit and we will certainly be dining there again.

My partner and I had an absolutely fantastic dinner here last night (the fourth time we have dined at the Hermitage). We asked for a wine recommendation to go with out food and loved the Shiraz that was suggested. I had the house specialty which is Beef tournedos with Balmain bug and bearnaise sauce and it was cooked to perfection. It was the best steak I have eaten in about 2 years. All in all a really lovely dinner and they even kept an eye on the clock for us so we didn't miss our date at the theatre afterwards! Very happy customers.

I've been there 2 x in the last month. 1st time the management glared at me when i asked if they took AMEX - he then proceeded to lecture me about a customer who paid her groups bill on AMEX, and then had $700 cash stolen from her bag that night... I am an adult -- Food was OK . 2nd time: we waited 50 minutes for our main, he wouldn't accept my friends entertainment discount card and gave us the line 'it isn't valid for pre-show meals' - where there is no reference to that in the book. Proceeded to delay us further by going on and on about how the person they bought the restaurant off of signed up for the 2011/2012 Entertainment book and they not going to honor the card for customers for next year either... - the meal 2nd time around was very ordinary... NEVER going back there!
