The Island Bar

This place is pretty tempramental as in it never really seems to be open, they have limited open times and days so you have to double check before you leave. It is a great idea though, you sit in deck chairs and have a full view of Sydney Harbour but because you are sat on Cockatoo Island you feel so removed from the hectic city. It is very relaxing and kind of surreal because in a few short moments you can feel so very far away from Sydney city. The drinks here are great but very pricey and that is because they have you trapped, it is pretty much the only place on the island to get a drink. Totally worth a visit but always check their open times.

Bar staff are good fun. The bar overall has an ideallic location overlooking the harbour.
Its an outdoor bar so only open certain hours and months! A real summer bar.

The Island is a fantastic oasis overlooking the harbour. It's a nice change from the craziness of the city. The only thing that sort of bothers me is having to get there by boat so when I want to leave it's not as simple as walking off I have to sit and wait for the boat to take me and even though the venue is nice it is really small.

The Island, another one of Julian Tobias' fantastic venues....Great floating venue overlooking Sydney Harbour. Catch a water taxi there and be surrounded by gorgeous people, enjoy amazing drinks and dance the afternoon away.
