The food is absolutely amazing - they also do takeaway and are very accomodating for dietary requirements as everything is made there! Really good coffee. There is free parking on site & the location is stunning, right on pittwater. Dog friendly and you can sit by the water too.
After visiting the West Head lookout, Me and my family went to check out The Marina Cafe. They have a very welcoming staff and the food was great. I like their open kitchen setup, everyone can see what's going on in there and you can see the chefs who are preparing the food. I personally like their Duck salad menu and would highly recommend it to everybody I know. The food prices are reasonable, the cafe is kid friendly and pets are welcome as well but only on the veranda. In our lunch experience there, I will give them a two thumbs up!
We went there for lunch with a group of 6 adults and 5 kids on Saturday and I have 3 points to note:
-There were 4 or 5 wait staff servicing around 30 or so patrons. It's fair to say we had pretty well NO SERVICE WHATSOEVER even though we were the closest table to the kitchen. From getting our own menu's and water bottles to grabbing cloths to clean up a spill, we did it all ourselves while the staff walked by us.
-If anyone in your party is in a wheelchair, chose another place as there is NO DISABLED TOILET on the marina- I really don't know how they (the marina) can get away with that. Though it's not the restaurants' fault, they should note this on their website as it made our day very difficult.
-$20 FOR 'KIDS MEALS' is overpriced, in any restaurant.
In fairness, the food was delicious but with all the above, we left with a bad taste in our mouth. We will not return there.
Popped in for the first time today after driving past many times. I had looked them up online and had seen the below review and was a bit put off - my experience was so vastly different that I just had to come on and write a review. I really find it hard to believe that there was 5 waitstaff, let alone no service, it was quite busy when we were there but it is quite small and intimate and I could only count 2 waitstaff and someone running coffees. Service was top notch and the food and coffee was great. You'll be seeing me again!
Thank you for your lovely review - we are always working hard to deliver delicious restaurant quality food in a cafe environment and it is great to hear we got it right for you.
Hope to see you soon.
My disabled wife and I have just walked out of the Marina caf after being ignored by at least 5 wait staffs who seemed more intent giggling amongst themselves than serving the few customers in the caf.
Hi Fred,
We are sorry you had this experience. We are constantly working hard to ensure our service and food are the best they can be, we will take this on board.
Thanks,
The Marina Cafe Team.
