The Meeting Place is now located in the Central Shopping Centre and the new store is wonderfully fitted out. The staff are friendly and I was very grateful for their contactless delivery service, which we took advantage of during our COVID isolation. We got a value pack, which had a great variety of preprepared meats and other delicious looking cuts. Highly recommend and I can assure you that you can ignore the earlier unfavrouable reviews.
I gave this place 5 starts before, but my experiences after that first one were very different in a bad way. Some of the employees seem that they don't have a clue on prices or meat cuts.The last time I ordered beef ribs I was charged $19 per kg (4 dollars more that the previous time) and when arriving home found out that more than half of the 6kg purchased was just fat and bones, not even good as pet food, they lost my business and I won't be referring any customers there.
I am new to Armidale, I was researching about butchers in the area and found about this place thru truelocal, despite the couple of negative reviews I decided to visit it anyway. I am glad I did. Excellent customer service and top quality beef. I went there late yesterday to inquire about a special beef ribs cut (asado). After showing a picture on my phone the lady knew exactly what I wanted and showed me the piece where they cut the ribs from giving me every possible choice. I put an order and today when I went to pick it up everyone was aware of the order and were extremely helpful. I highly recommend this place.
By far the most amazing range of products I have seen outside a metropolitan area. And after purchasing many different items I am happy to say they tasted just as good as they looked! Service was excellent! I will not bother looking anywhere else for my meat, I have found the best place around!
Once again I placed an order at the Meating Place with the person that had been so rude to me last time. Two weeks later my wife went in to pick up the order and once again it was not there! As we live out of town we like to purchase frozen goods so that we can refreeze them. With the Meating Place not fulfilling our orders it has made it difficult for us. Now we buy our meat elsewhere, but they do not stock frozen goods for sale.
I would not give the Meating Place even half a star from our point of view, very dissapointing.
