I randomly saw 'The National Opal Collection' while walking down Pitt Street to go to Circular Quay so I thought I would go in and have a look.
A museum with free entry - Who can say no.
This museum is small but it has a stunning showroom and provides an awesome history lesson on these gemstones and the Opal mining.
They also have a section to buy all types of Opal jewellery. They were beautiful but were quite expensive.
A unique little piece of Opal history tucked away from Pitt Street. Showcasing an epic collection of Opal jewellery mixed with a twist of history showcased in the museum lit dinosaur displays. Friendly staff although a very quiet place so would really recommend only for those who love opals or are just intrigued to take the escalator up for something different.
