THE BEGINNING...

Back in 1999 we had a vision to provide traditional Greek cuisine to public that was lacking in authenticity, hence saw the opening on Santorini Greek Taverna at Ramsgate.

Through to decor and ambiance resembling that of Greek island setting and secret recipes passed down to family line of chefs, we set out to give our patrons, what Greek food truly is, the heart of Mediterranean cuisine.

Our secret? using freshest ingredients and extra virgin olive oil. At the same time we planted our first cultivars of olives trees on outskirts of Sydney sent from family olive groves back in Greece.

In 2006 we moved on with Santorini and headed back to Europe where Paul (chef) pursued his culinary odyssey for several years, at the same time our young grove was slowly maturing and heading towards commercial production.

Seeing that grove was ready to produce high quality fresh extra virgin olive oil, Paul returned back to Australia and established the Oily Tree Bringelly Grove line of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and hand picked olives

May 2014 Meze Souvlaki Grill â??opened its doors to public and our mission is give a casual dining experience with traditional Greek Mezedes and chargrilled meats (on SA Tally Wood Charcoal & pruned cuts olive branches) seen on every neighbourhood corner in Athens.
