Our whole family come to this place to celebrate Oma's 85th birthday. Great setting, fabulous food, terrific celebration/memories. We all loved the complete experience and would certainly recommend it to anyone who is interested in doing something different and tasting traditional Polish food.
I have driven past this place so many times as its a hidden gem on the mountain. The first time my partner and ate here we were blown away by the quality of the food and enjoyed it over a great view of the valley. After we finished our dessert the lorikeets dive down for a visit to clean up the sugar on our plates. A great experience and will def be going back.
It is amazing isn't it? When a view of a beautiful valley makes us believe we are having a truly wonderful time. How about the back of those cottages? After a lovely day and the warmth of a cozy log fire you go upstairs to bed, lay down and find yourself at ear level with the busy main road at the back. The bird song is totally drowned by the incessant noise of traffic at any time of day. In cottage 1 it is accompanied by parking cars, slamming doors and the endless chatter of visitors at the lookout point. And if you are still feeling lonely you are woken up by more slamming doors and the starting up of the bread delivery van at 3 am!
Have a nice meal by all means, but do not kid yourself.
We stopped for a coffee on a gorgeous Summer's day and enjoyed the views that stretch for miles. The hang-gliders were soaring overhead and a goanna was wandering around underneath our feet.
The coffee was really strong and the kids loved the ice-cream sodas. Definitely worth a stop!
We came because of the great reviews and we very much enjoyed ourselves at this place. A warm, homely ambiance, where the food was truly an experience. The cuisine, Polish, exceeded our expectations. After our main (a cabbage roll, and sauerkraut and sausage) we ordered our second cabbage roll, it was just too delicious!
It was delightful to be able to try all that right next to a view that stretches out kilometers west. We stayed for a while as the sunset came. It was just like we were on vacation. A gem in the Gold Coast hinterland.
