The Portsea Hotel
Located along the Mornington Peninsula, The Portsea Hotel is a beautiful estate opposite Portsea Beach. The restaurant serves a range of Modern Australian cuisine, with an emphasis on, understandably, seafood dishes. If it is a cold day opt to dine indoors near the fire, or sit outside during the warmer weather and soak up the sun and water views; the beer garden alone occupies half an acre of prime land. Meanwhile, if you feel like a drink from the bar, the wine list is extensive. The Portsea is also popular for functions.
Weekend playground of the privileged but open to all who love stunning views of Port Phillip Bay, leafy beer garden to chill out in, good-quality bistro food and general banter. The Point Nepean National Park offers tours and walking trails to get away from it all and the hotel itself has comfortable accommodation to encourage you to settle in and stay ...read more

Waiting 38 minutes for our meals? NOT good. Meals being luke warm when received? NOT good. Prices a little high also given the small portions and the fact that the calamari was frozen. The pumpkin rissoto was bland. Tables were NOT cleared fast enough. But due to poor competition and the great view the place is aLways busy. Still, I had not been for years and it will be years before I voluntarily go back.
Group of 7 girls to Portsea Pub for dinner with high expectations. The friend who ordered last, got her meal 20 min prior to the rest of us, just after the entrees. She paid around $24 for a gourmet burger and what came out was tiny and cold! My meal was lovely but only 3 of us happy with what we paid for. Bar staff rude: "if you must" when a girlfriend asked for an apparently-exotic drink. Wait staff dressed sloppyt what we expected from such a reputable pub.
