Go visit Sydney’s largest collection of gin - currently sitting at 95 - in the hands of star mixologist, Grant Collins. Best drink I tried: Gunpowder Plot ($18). Arriving in a cloud of tea smoke, it’s a spectacularly well-balanced concoction of gunpowder tea-infused gin, dandelion bitters and lemon juice with egg white froth. At the subtler end, The Nettle Gimlet ($17), served in a traditional glass, begs sipping to savour its beauty.
I had an awesome time at the powder keg! Lots of drinks to choose from - Ihad the honeymead sour and my partner had the BBQ mary. They were both beautifully presented and delicious. we only had cheese board to share (and it was good, though its hard to mess up a cheese board!) but the other dishes that passed us by looked delicious too. We'll be back for sure.
I had dinner with a group of friends here mid week. It's in one of the nice old terraces in Kellet Street so has lots of character. Hard to tell if it's more restaurant or bar, there is definitely a big focus on drinks.
The acoustics weren't great where we were, there was quite a lot of echo and I felt sorry for the tables of two right beside our group of loud girls.
