I had a somewhat similar experience but mine was a pillow. I bought a top of the range down pillow for $260 & it was too high & hard for me so they removed half the down & put it into an old flat pillow I had. They washed the old down first then topped it up with some of the down from the new one. However they made a very shabby cotton case for my old one ( uncut cotton threads sticking out of the edges ). Didn't even give me the option of having the same case as the one I bought (cotton/silk) despite the pillow now containing the brand new down. Honestly I could've done a better job myself. I paid $60! for the privilege of having the old down washed & new down (from a pillow I had already paid for, put in...oh & the shabby case).
If you want good quality go somewhere else.
These people were very helpful and friendly which made dealing with them a pleasure. However, their work was less wonderful. Having given me a long explanation of just how a good quilt cover was made, they then made me a poor quality cover. The significance of this is that it means that I am likely to be needing their services again soon, rather than having a quilt to last many years.
I am likely to find ways around a return to them. Because the other difficulty is their prices. It would be possible to buy a new quilt for about twice what I paid for an upgrade by them. To do this every 2 years would be economic folly, although it does avoid waste of resources.
They are a good-hearted business accepting donations of feathers which they use to make into quilts for aged care residents. I assume these are of little ...read more
I completely agree with all that was said by the previous person. I too had a similar experience & was disappointed with the final product. In my case a pillow. I bought a new top of the range down pillow $260! but it was too high for me so they removed a portion of down & putting it into old very flat pillow I had, rejuvenating it. The new pillow came in a lovely cotton/silk cover but with the rejuvenated one they just made a shabby cotton case ( threads of cotton sticking out of it). Didn't even offer to make it in the lovely fabric of the new one to match. ALso charged me an additional $60 to wash whatever down was left in my old pillow & make the shabby cotton cover.
If you want good quality I would go elsewear !!!
