The Stoned Crow

I'm going to have to say that my experience at this place was not all that fantastic. Okay, it is more a restaurant than a bar, but I stepped in here for a drink and to check it out. While I was okay with them not having middies, and the fact that they serve Pepsi as opposed to Coke (not that I drink much Coke, but I tend to drink much less Pepsi than Coke) was understandable, it is just that when I got my beer is was disgusting. There must have been something wrong with the batch because it tasted way too yeasty, it it wasn't a craft-beer either. Okay, it may have been a bit of bad luck on my part, but I seriously couldn't finish it off (maybe I should have told them, but then again I generally don't complain all that much, at least to the staff).

I came here with a small group of friends when it was quiet which was perfect for us to have our catch up. They serve their tap cider in mason jars which is pretty cool. In terms of food I would recommend their nachos which cannot go wrong.

The cocktails here are delicious. The fairy floss cocktail was my favourite.
The staff was helpful too.
We had a group booking on a Friday night until 6 - but wanted to stay longer. So the staff member accommodated our request despite being felt out.
Pizzas were quite good too.
It was a great night!

Very easy going place to chill for a boozey lunch. Their salmon and avocado salad is so so good, who says you can't make friends with salad? And they've got a great range of cocktails too.

Be sure to give this place a try if you have never been, or if you think it hasn't changed in the 25 or so years since it has been going( I can't recall the exact year, but I remember going here in the early 1990s), it's had a few reincarnations since then, so pop in and see for yourself, it used to be just a night time bar, and did not have a good reputation for food. That's all changed now, and the building has Windows opening into the street and some excellent food and drinks. I highly recommend any of the pizza, they never let you down. Friendly staff and fair prices, what's not to love ?
