The Strathmore Hotel

This is one of those pubs that I have been on many occasions, from work lunches, to family dinners, to late night drinks. I even made this a stop for my after work drink occasionally. Okay, half of the pub is dedicated to pokie machines, but if you ignore that part and walk in through the main door you will enter what has certainly become a very popular place. In fact the last time I was here it was so crowded that it was fortuitous that we found a place to sit. They have completely renovated the beer garden from the grubby outdoor area that it used to be, and it is know certainly a great place to while away some time. They also offer what they call the 'Stone Grill' which is a really hot piece of paving stone upon which you cook your meat (though I would not recommending touching the stone because it is really hot!).

Excellent meal. I had the prawn & scallop salad, yum. Everyone else tried the Stonegrill, which was fantastic.

The service was slow and the order stuffed up. BUT to their great credit they came and apologised and gave us extra, for free, of our prawn meal. As to taste, very nice. End result, everyone has bad days, makes mistakes... but these folk went out of their way to make it up. We will be back.

Went here for some dinner before heading out to watch some local bands play. Have to say was very impressed with the menu, quality of the food and the over all experience. Once we had finished watching the bands at another bar, we tracked back here to enjoy the beer garden.

Love it here! Downstairs is a chilled crowd (most of the time) whilst upstairs the restaurant is amazing! Very fair priced meals and highly reccommended if you want a nice quiet meal. Also try and get a table overlooking North Tce - quality stuff! Wonderful staff always up for a chat. Right across on the road from the Casino and a quick walk from many quality hotels. The Strath works well as a pub and I'll be heading back again soon.
