The Terrace

Good specials, but they are incline to run out early which is frustrating (aka the $10 salmon). Service is poor and staff are perhaps a bit pretentious... no table service so you have to order at the bar. Good people watching and atmosphere. Perhaps a few too many flat screen televisions post renovation.

Unless you were told about it, Moncur Terrace is probably not somewhere that you would walk into for dinner. This sleek but casual outdoor dining area upstairs in the Woollahra hotel could easily be missed. The courtyard is spacious, fresh and modern with tea-light candle lit tables and ivy-covered walls. This space has a lot of potential. However, on the Thursday night we arrive here for dinner the restaurant is nearly empty with 2 other couples seated and enjoying their meals. This is surprising, considering the Terrace's more upmarket sister restaurant next door, Bistro Moncur is heaving. We order a beer and wine from the bar and choose our table. The menu has some attractive options at affordable prices. I order the crispy ocean trout fillet with roasted tomato, basil and fennel salad. My boyfriend orders the wagyu beef burger and chips.
