Thermal Energy Storage (TES) is an excellent energy management strategy with benefits including access to low-cost energy, heat absorption at a constant temperature, ability to satisfy high peak cooling loads, reserve cooling capacity and lower plant electrical capacity requirements.

Flow-Ice systems are an economical way to spread peak cooling and energy demand loads over a 24-hour period.

In many applications, a smaller conventional cooling system can be installed and Flow-Ice / TES is used to satisfy the larger peak cooling demands. Furthermore, the lower off-peak energy costs are an attractive option contributing to overall lower operating costs.

Flow-Ice systems can also be used for the production of clean potable water from various water sources - our new Cooling, Heating and Desalination (CHAD) concept now provides potable water as a by-product from a thermal energy storage with ice and heat recovery from the refrigeration system. The system therefore allows us to reduce power requirements and manage energy demand.
