Traditional Goju Karate as taught by Tino Ceberano Hanshi, the Father of Australian Karate-do.I.G.K. is a traditional school that strives to provide students with safe, professional, world class instruction on the history, techniques and virtues of Goju Karate-do. We offer exciting training programs for all ages.
Through years of training and experience, we have developed teaching methods to enhance the body, mind and spirit. We encourage individuals to reach their full potential with a balance of all three elements while learning to be self-disciplined, respectful and honest.
Kushin Kan is the Victorian Headquarters under Tino Ceberano Hanshi who is a 9th dan international karate master and is referred to as the father of karate in Australia. He was a direct student under Gogen Yamaguchi Hanshi, the founder of Goju Kai (I.K.G.A.).

Great place to train. Very experienced instructors who work with every level of student. The atmosphere is friendly and open, but at the same time focussed and hard working. I can't recommend it highly enough as a place to get fit, learn self-defence or improve yourself.
Tino Ceberano Hanshi has been called the father of Australian karate. With over 50 years of experience teaching in Australia, the instructors of this Canterbury karate club have been taught by him and remain the only authentic Goju-ryu school in Victoria in his I.G.K. organisation.
I have been enjoying my training for the last year and can vouch for the high level of instruction, safety and standards. Classes cater for kids of all ages, women and adults regardless of their experience. I recommend this club to anyone in the north-eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
