Toscani's Cafe Bar & Restaurant

Went for lunch with some friends who said that we should go to Toscanis as they had a lunch special on.

$12 for one of 4 main meals as long as you bought a drink.

Very disappointed when the meals turned up and they were like Kids meals.

Quality was good, just tiny.

I asked to talk to the manager to say that I didnt think the special was very special and that the chalk board advertising was misleading as it gave the impression that full size meals were being discounted to $12 not kids meals portions being sold for twice the price.

$96 for five small meals and drinks, not a very special lunch.

We were still hungry and went to KFC.

Manager was unhelpful and did nothing to improve our bad experience.

Used to go there alot. Their food _was_ good. Recently (about 6 weeks ago) went there, got a club sandwich, it was all soggy, and covered in oil and the chips were undercooked. I just thought they had a bad day... The following Thursday, there was no one in there, ordered 2 mains... 50 mins later still no food. Asked how much longer - they said 5 more mins... 15 mins passed and still had nothing. Ended up asking for our bill - paid for 2 alcoholic beverages, 1 salt and pepper squid and paid $30 and still havent had anything substantial to eat. Had to resort to a Kebab instead.



Phoned head office to make a complaint - they said they will contact the franchisee manager to investigate... I have had to chase my complaint up several times, and 3 weeks has passed and still no response. If they truly respected their customers they would of been right on top of it and contacted me at latest 3 days later. I will never go there again!!

Both my husband and little daughter love this place. We normally order the seafood plate, the pancake with ice cream, and sirloin steak (the first and last time we tried the rib eye steak, we were disappointed because it was too small, a bit tough, and not worth the wait and the price). We love the iced coffee and iced chocolate with ice cream, but you need to tell them not to serve them too early, as the food we order usually takes a long time before they arrive and the drink are usually nearly finished by the time they do. The ambience is great, people friendly.

Whether breakfast, lunch or tea, the Toscani's menu offers great choice and the food is superb. The al fresco dining is particularly enjoyable. It's a great place to sit and relax with friends or celebrate a special occasion.
