Not to be confused with the oft-rambunctious public bar on the ground floor, this swanky salon oozes old school cool. Great drink selection? Hell yeah! Live music? But of course. Flattering lighting? Indeed, madam. Towering nearly 10 metres above Fed Square, Transit also has one of the best locations in town, and takes advantage of it with a massive terrace swooping the sights from Docklands to the MCG, it is the perfect venue to relax and unwind.
Late opening hours allow plenty of time to contemplate the view.

This place is basically nothing short of awesome. In fact the first time I came up here, having basically only hung around downstairs, I was absolutely amazed. I guess it has a lot to do with the views that you get of the area, and just the amazing atmosphere of the Melbourne night life. Okay, the drinks are pretty pricey, but the thing is that it is still pretty awesome.
I came to Melbourne recently for my friends Engagement party/turned suprize wedding celebration and her party was here at the Transit Rooftop Bar. This is a great venue for a party and just to chill out/hang out in general. Great location right at Federation Square, the view is great! The service and staff were friendly, cheerful and great and the food that was served to the party was delicious! It was such a great night!
Federation Square is a really happening part of Melbourne and as soon as a new venue opens, it's packed. This is a relaxing bar with a fantastic balcony right in Federation Square with some great music and good snacks which won't break the budget. It's wonderful that it's not too too noisy so you can relax and chat without coming home hoarse from a big night out,
