Truck and Forklift Training

I did the certificate 3 in warehousing with Set solutions and then i was sent to Taft to do the forklift training and license. It was a waste of my time and government funding, we were rushed through the forklift training and got about 20 minutes training on the forklift. I had to sit the written test and i failed it, i was told that i could re sit the written test if i paid another $165 and i could re sit the practical test on the forklift if i pay another $195. The training was poorly delivered and i wasn't taught how to operate the forklift properly. I had no chance of passing these tests with the training i was given. What seemed like a cheaper option to get the forklift license can end up been very costly and a waste of time.

Throughout the day every student was lucky to get even 15 minutes driving practice on a forklift, and then they tested us. How is anybody supposed to know how to drive a forklift with that amount of time driving. And of course we all failed, but they told us we could book in again for an extra $300!!!!



I ended up going with another company to get my forklift licence, where the whole class got driving practice for a full 8 hour day. I now have my licence and felt I had to let people know that "You get what you pay for" while taft may seem cheap, trust me pay abit more and avoid the unprofessionalism of TAFT.
