i dont really like meat but this place does excellent meat. the marinated beef skewers were delicous $$25 with black beans and avacado. the churros were nice but they were with caramal sauce which was way too sickly sweet -shoud be with dark choc sauce $14 is too expensive too. large busy place with bar and restaurant
Returned to True South for lunch today. It was a windy, blustery day so we sat inside. The food was not what I remembered it to be; overcooked calamari and everything seemed to have a chickpea base in the sauce. A strange combination of flavours and not much to offer for non-meat eaters or vegetarians. It was ok but I certainly wouldn't hurry back.
Overlooking beautiful Black Rock beach is this gem of a place serving delicious food with lovely views. The food was great and plentiful. I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful salad and crunchy calamari! Full of zest and friendly, True South was a surprise find on Beach Road and easy to miss if you're driving past. Only downside is when there are a lot of smokers, the cigarette smoke tends to waft inside.
