Truffles on Burbank

I recently spent a lovely Friday evening celebrating my last birthday in the 20s with my husband at Truffles Cafe on the recommendation of a friend. I have to say neither my husband nor myself are very adventurous when it comes to the pallet however we were both captivated by the delicious food and atmosphere. The service was wonderful. We stepped out of our comfort zone and instead of just ordering pizzas... (which I too still dream about!!)... tried the tapas and were blown away. It was such a treat. Then to add being serenaded by fabulous jazz musicians who also played a few unplanned jazz numbers on request! Absolutely fabulous night!! Beautiful fresh quality food and vibe left us wanting for nothing! P.S. coffee and wine selection were also superb...

The place is drafty and cold.. we spent the entire time shivering and trying to keep warm. It was obviously an old office building in an industrial estate and lacks any kind of character which is typical of most quality tapas bars.



To be fair, the food was nice but this was ruined by the staff making a sarcastic comment to one of the other staffs about us 'ordering too many dishes' ...read more

Still dreaming of the pizzas from this place... And the Sangria!

Friday night is definitely the place to go here if you can, but the best thing to know is that the Chef here is one of the city's best, and he is producing top quality food at teeny tiny prices.

He is the first chef to produce Kangaroo, mussels and crocodile that I not only enjoyed, but relished. Wish I could give more than 5 stars, fantastic restaurant.

Have eaten here twice recently - once for lunch - had a great flat white coffee and a salmon bagel that was also very very nice.

Was most blown away when I returned on a Friday night to try their Tapas menu (only there on Fridays).

Highly recommend the bluetongue beer battered deep fried Zucchini flower (mind blowing - has four types of cheese, including Blue cheese - yum), the Cuatro pizza (out of this world), the Sangria - authentic and delicious, and the Outback 500 tapas ...read more
