Unity Hall Hotel

I'm going to have to say that I wasn't really all that impressed with this place, and in fact out of all the pubs that I visited in Balmain this was probably the one that I liked the least. Okay, there isn't anything specific that I can put my finger on, and the staff certainly weren't bad (I have encountered a lot worse in my time), but I have to say that there was something about the atmosphere in this place that I simply didn't feel all that thrilled about. In a way it is sort of one of those 'lowest common denominator' pubs which seems to attract the lowest common denominator in the suburb no matter how exclusive that suburb may be. This is certainly a pub that I would bypass the next time I happen to be in Balmain.

Awesome old local pub, not as shiny and revently renovated as most in the area but that's fun when you feel like it. The highlight is definitely the house big band that plays regularly with lots of great special guests visiting throughout the year.

The Unity Hall is a solid option for casual drinks and a cheap bite in Balmain. Well located next to Woolworths, its a good central meeting point. The menu has relatively recently been revamped and has a slight twist on typical pub grub. Theres often live music here on weekends also which is a nice touch.

This place is the worst kind of bar/nightclub in Sydney --rude staff, expensive... There are many better places than this, don't go.

As a frequent visitor to many of the Balmain pubs I'd have to say this isn't my favourite, pub in my opinion, however sunday afternoon blues sessions are cool.
