Took our Border Collie there after a dog attacked him while walking the neighbourhood... the star and a half is for the pain killer they gave him on arrival.. however the rest was atrocious.. without even looking at the wound there offering 2000 dollar surgery.. or a half hour of cleaning and bandaging..750 dollars for cleaning and bandaging made me and the dog sick..... reccomend you wait for a vet that cares. cause they only care about their pocket ...and they don't hide it ..all up pathetic experience

I cannot recommend VSS highly enough. My little boy had very sudden and unexplained paralysis, after taking him to the adjoining emergency services during the night, he was seamlessly transferred into the care of the specialist team. The communication I received from a team of vets was excellent, and they were able to give a differential diagnosis quickly and then give me options in terms of testing, treatments and cost. My dog was in care there for a week, and I was able to visit him at anytime. The vet nurses would give us a private consult room and set him up in a comfortable bed with food and water for us to spend time with him. The nurses were wonderful and genuinely seemed to care for him and cater to his wellbring, both physically and mentally. The vets called me day or night with any updates required. From the minute we arrived at VSS ( almost after hours- they stayed to see us with our sick Rottie- Teddy), we had excellent care and service. We were never rushed, our questions and concerns were addressed patiently and with genuine compassion. Three specialists gave us their care and attention without us ever feeling rushed, although they were obviously busy. The nurses were friendly and caring at all times and we were welcomed to visit Teddy when he was hospitalised in their care. We were updated with all scenarios for our boy and we were welcome to call for updates and advice whenever we felt the need. Cannot reccommend this team more highly.

If you like having specialist appointments repeatedly cancelled, this is the place for you! I scheduled an appointment months ago so that I could arrange the day off work. It's been cancelled twice and now the best they can offer is an appointment with someone else in four weeks. Very poor service.

I honestly can't recommend VSS highly enough. We were referred to Dr Bowles after our beautiful border collie was having breathing difficulties. When we first arrived our girl was offered oxygen while we were waiting for our appointment so she wouldn't be in distress. Dr Bowles was very upfront about our options and the cost for each. She didn't sugar coat things and I really appreciated her honesty.
Having previously been to another Veterinary Specialist with a different pet, I found VSS so much more honest and caring.
Reading the comments below, the receptionist when we originally rang to confirm our appointment was a bit rude but the receptionist that were on when we got there couldn't have been nicer or more caring. They called our pets by name and asked after them when we came back ...read more
