Vini
A funky little Surry Hills restaurant with a more than ample choice of wine. Select your dinner from the blackboard-wall, and enjoy your meal du jour. Vini relies on simple, clean practical elegance to set the ambience. Just look through the large windows to see if any of the dozen or so tables are free. Although the menu changes daily, Italian food is the theme, with dishes like spaghetti with calamari, olives, preserved lemon and asparagus; or platters with olives, crostini and salami.

Tucked into the leafy streets of Surry Hills is this lovely little gem of a venue. The chalkboard walls which display the daily menu give you an immediate stomach ache in anticipation of their advertised delights.
The waiters are all very well versed in the selection of imported Italian wines. I recommend trying something a little different with your wine as their selection is top notch. Rumour is that people return for the desserts - personally i'm not a sweet tooth and think the mains are what will make me return.
Vini is a great place to take a date or catch up with an old friend. Highly recommended!
Finding a table in this tiny wine bar can be a little stressful but it is worth it 'cos the food is GOOD! It might be my favourite Italian place in Sydney. The gnocchi is beautiful and obviously handmade and all the ingredients are simple but highly flavoursome. Even when they don't have anything vegetarian on the board, they still can make a nice dish for me. Wonderful.
