You truly do get what you pay for. The Westin is stylish and has modern rooms,great restaurant and bar. Perfect location if you want to "shop til you drop" or if you are here to see the beautiful offerings in Sydney. They are also work friendly as well and I didn't have any issues with room service or wifi unlike other recent hotel experiences.
The cafe in the lobby is bright and a great place to catch up with a friend or swing a business deal. There were 'suits' everywhere, pitching and pushing deals. The staff are very professional and are clearly graduates of some fancy hospitality training school. The coffee is good and the lunch consists of sandwiches, quiches and salads.
Prices were not too bad at around $15 per person.
Westin Sydney is a lovely hotel. I'm a sucker for the heavenly beds, so this is a nice choice if I want to splurge for a night out in town. The rooms are quite modernly furnished, which I like. Its also a lovely view over martin place. I've also been to a number of events at the Westin and have been impressed with the event space and catering.
When I arrived they were doing some renovation outside which had blocked up most of the entrance so I didnt even recognise the building from outside. I was warmly greeted by the concierge with the luggage from the taxi drop off point. The time I had arrived, it was quite early which was perfect with hardly anyone trying to checkout out. The process was relatively fast to check in, but the room wasnt available until later in the afternoon. When I had checked in the room, it was nice to see the bag already in the room. It was modern and large, quite spacious for 1 person. My main point of check is always the bathroom, it was nice to see a huge bathtub, separate toilet and shower all within the 1 room. The bed was nice and firm with plenty of pillows of all sizes. Large bath robes in the wardrobe. Just attended an event in the westin main ballroom. This is the second event I have attended here. They allow 1,000 people into the room but I think that is far too many. It's is quite cramped and it is difficult to get out of your seat. The good however is excellent. Service is also very good.
